Founded in 2005, the New Methodist Conference is a collection of Christian faith communities in the tradition of John Wesley and the early Methodist "societies." The NMC is an independent denomination; we are not affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
We are people who share a desire to follow the Way that Jesus taught, and believe that we have been called to reveal his glorious Good News in the living of our lives. We are to love and forgive, heal and bless, nurture, comfort and care for God's people, just as our Lord did.
Most of us are members of small groups who meet for prayer, worship, Scripture study, and to encourage one another in love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24). There are "holy hermits" who have pledged themselves to lives of prayer and meditation. Some serve in other faith communities. There is no single "right" way for a person to respond to God's call.
All are welcome in the NMC, regardless of the labels society uses to divide us. If abundant variety is God's good pleasure, who would dare to scorn it?
We invite you to explore our website to learn more about us, and would be delighted to engage in conversation with you about the Christian faith, your call, or our community. May the Source of Love and Joy encourage and inspire you always.
