May 2009: We celebrate with mixed emotions the retirement from New Methodist service of Rev. Rob Jones,
who along with Rev. Deborah Giordano founded the NMC. Rev. Jones was an energetic hands-on leader,
in everything from designing and building this web site and writing
much of the content, to drafting the NMC's formation program and policy, participating in several seminary
campus outreach events, and seeking to build ecumenical bridges. As the NMC's first Convening Bishop, Rev. Jones
faced the daunting task of creating awareness of this tiny new denomination.
Rev. Jones will embark on a new phase of ministry "further out in the tall weeds of the post-christian wilderness".
We are pleased to announce that Rev. Deborah Giordano has assumed leadership as the second Convening Bishop of the New Methodist Conference.
